    This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position.     This temporary position is located in Black Mountain - Buncombe County.

    Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $18.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

    This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services. This position is located at 932 Old US Hwy 70, Black Mountain, NC 28711.

    The position requires performance of general housekeeping duties, including making beds, cleaning bathrooms, offices, break areas, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing areas.

    Work hours: Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Weekends: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

    Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification.  The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.

    Management Preference

    • Basic knowledge of the purpose and application of products and equipment used in cleaning/sanitizing.  
    • Ability to understand and follow directions.
    • Basic knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
