    Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Administrative Supervisor represents Hospital and Nursing Administration in their absence and supports the mission, vision and values of Medical City Frisco-A Medical City Plano facility and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing. The Administrative Supervisor promotes, advocates for and supports the nursing staff’s primary commitment to protect the health, safety and rights of the individual, family and community. When assisting in patient care activities, this RN is accountable for their practice and care coordination. The RN is expected to practice autonomously utilizing evidence based practices.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · Provide for effective utilization of personnel and act as a resource person in planning care on the unit level.

    · Assure standards of performance are maintained as they relate to each individual department, with patient safety as the primary goal.

    · Exercise independent judgment within the context of interdisciplinary patient care.

    · Delegate tasks appropriate to meet the needs of the individual patient and to the skills of the employee supervised.

    · Ensures an environment that facilitates the provision of care/treatment/services within the theoretical framework of modeling and role-modeling.

    · Utilizes effective problem solving techniques and service recovery as appropriate.

    · Participate in development and evaluation of professional practice by participating on unit and/or hospital committees, special projects and attendance at staff meetings and town halls.

    · Actively participate in unit and/or hospital performance improvement activities.

    · Participate in health promotion/educational community involvement, life time learning and nursing research.

      · Attendance and being on time, ready to work your scheduled hours is an essential job function.

      What qualifications you will need:
      • (RN) Registered Nurse
      • Bachelors Degree
      • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor
      • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor
      • 5 years progressive nursing experience-minimum of 2 years  Supervisory capacity
