    Location: Roselle Center for the Arts

    Role Description:

    Reporting to the Event Manager, the House Manager leads Event Staff in support of events and performances in the Center for the Arts, Bayard Sharp Hall, and Amy E. Dupont Music Building. Hours are variable, dependent on the event schedule, and average approximately 6-10 hours per week. Qualified candidates must be available and willing to work in the evenings and on weekends.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Assist with the coordination and execution of events including Faculty and Student Recitals, SoM Ensemble Concerts, and various other events sponsored by UD affiliated departments held in performance venues on campus
    • Provide supervision and direction for Front of House staff members
    • Facilitate the execution of the event in coordination with the Tech Crew and Stage Manager
    • Provide support for the event and address client and guest concerns as they arise
    • Ensure that University and venue policies are followed by guests and clients
    • Complete and file an Event Report at the conclusion of each event
    • Secure all venue entrances post event as needed
    • May occasionally be scheduled in other roles to ensure that an event is fully staffed

    Qualifications:  

    • Must be available and willing to work in the evenings and on weekends.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Must be comfortable interfacing with guests of all backgrounds
    • Previous experience managing a team is preferred
    • Must be able to lift 25lbs unassisted

    Eligibility for Graduate Student Employment

    Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Delaware and be in good academic standing. To be considered for additional on-campus employment, applicants combined on-campus employment, including teaching, research and graduate assistantship, must not exceed 29.5 hours per week.

    Graduate students on contract may hold additional employment, on campus or off, up to 29.5 hours per week total without approval by the student’s program, the student advisor or the Graduate College. However, graduate students on contract are encouraged to discuss additional employment with their advisors to avoid any situations that might hinder timely progress toward the degree.
