Job Title: House Manager
Location: Baltimore, MD 21212
Employment Type: Part-time, 15–20 hours per week
Schedule: 3-4 days a week; flexible schedule for the right candidate
Compensation: $30–$35 per hour
Start Date: After the New Year; open to an earlier start for the right candidate
Ours is a busy, active family with two school-aged children, a lovable family dog, and a whole lot of heart. Sports are a big part of our lives, and both children are deeply involved in competitive travel sports, which means our weeks and weekends are often full of practices, games, and time on the go.
As our family navigates a new chapter, I am looking for someone who can bring warmth, steadiness, and a thoughtful, get-it-done approach to our home. We need a house manager who can be a trusted extra set of hands during the work and school day, helping keep daily life running smoothly while taking initiative with household organization, preparing dinners ahead of busy practice nights, and managing the many details that come with a full family schedule.
I value structure and consistency, along with flexibility, positivity, and a calm, reassuring presence. More than anything, I am hoping to find someone who understands that a home is about more than keeping things organized — it is also about creating a sense of comfort, stability, and ease for the people who live in it.
The right person will become a trusted, long-term presence in our family's life: someone dependable, thoughtful, and proactive who takes pride in their work and genuinely cares about helping our household thrive. I would love to find someone who can build a natural rapport with the children, bring a positive presence to their everyday lives, and help make home feel like a place where everyone can settle in, recharge, and feel supported.
The right person for this role is someone who is warm, grounded, and self-directed. You are the kind of person who walks into a room and quietly starts figuring out what needs to happen next and enjoys taking ownership of systems and spaces. You think ahead — you check the weather and make a rain plan, you are aware of upcoming family events and prepare accordingly, you notice when household staples are running low, and you show up ready to work without needing to be told where to begin.
Additionally, you are energized by the potential for systems and order where there may be disorganization. You are ready to come in and tackle our growing to-do list, while being able to prioritize what makes the household run smoothly on a day-to-day basis — preparing dinners, finishing laundry, and taking ownership of organization systems. You bring calm energy and a can-do attitude, and you understand that working in a family home means showing up with both competence and care. Most importantly, you are the kind of person who earns trust quickly — through consistency, reliability, and genuine investment in the families you support.
