Laundry Attendant Job Description

A Laundry Attendant manages the cleaning process for linens, towels, ensuring high cleanliness standards in the hotels. Key duties include sorting, washing, drying, folding, and storing linens, alongside treating stains and maintaining laundry equipment. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for long periods, and strong attention to detail. 

Key Responsibilities

• Sorting and Washing: Collect, sort, and pretreat soiled linens and clothing by fabric type, color, and cleaning instructions.
• Machine Operation: Load and unload washers and dryers, utilizing proper chemical detergents and settings.
• Linen Finishing: Fold, press, and hang clean items neatly for distribution.
• Inventory Control: Stock linen carts and closets; assist with inventory counts as assigned.
• Facility Maintenance: Keep the laundry area, machines, and lint traps clean, safe, and organized.
• Stain Treatment: Identify and treat stains using appropriate chemicals and techniques. 

Qualifications and Physical Requirements

• Experience: Prior experience in hospitality or industrial laundry preferred.
• Physical Ability: Must be able to lift to 20-50 lbs., push/pull carts, and stand for extended periods.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, basic math skills, and the ability to work quickly with minimal supervision.
• Scheduling: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
