Hostler/Mechanic

Coast RTA provides reliable transit service to our growing, diverse, and visiting community to make life's important connections. Coast RTA promotes 'Sunshine Customer Service' to all constituents, including but not limited to all internal and external customers including the community at large.

Job Summary:

The Hostler/Mechanic services and prepares Fixed-Route, Paratransit and company vehicles for the next day's route assignments. Inspecting, diagnosing, and fixing mechanical issues as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Shuttles empty fleet vehicles in parking area in a safe and efficient manner;

• Executes various manual labor functions such as washing and fueling fleet vehicles;

• Probes Fare Collection System on fleet vehicles;

• Identifies potential operational or service concerns and notifies appropriate co-workers or leadership and assists with resolving;

• Monitors various yard maintenance tasks;

• Performs other duties of a similar nature as required.

• Inspect, diagnose, and repairing mechanical issues as needed is a plus.
