    JOB PURPOSE 
    The Host and Hostess is responsible for seating members and guests in the dining room. Handles member service situations as they arise.
     
    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Promptly and warmly greets and directs members and guests to their tables based on availability or desired seating arrangements.
    • Helps create an overall enjoyable dining experience and promotes a safe, clean and neat environment for members and guests.
    • Exhibits exceptional communication skills. Gets along well with others, demonstrates flexibility and patience; possesses an interest in people.
    • Maintains a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information that is shared.
    • Supervises the activities of food-service associates in the dining room to ensure proper customer service, food handling and sanitation procedures are followed
    • Helps train new food-service team members
    • Supervises the closing of the assigned dining room; ensures side work and station setup is properly completed
    • Demonstrates knowledge of emergency safety procedures and helps evacuate members and guests to safety in the event of fire or other emergency
    • Assists with service, including occasional bussing and food service, while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
    • May be asked to operate equipment, including but not limited to fire extinguishers, telephones, ice tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines.
    • Attends scheduled staff meetings
    • Other duties as assigned
    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
    • 2 years experience in restaurants
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Stable and progressive work history; Strong work ethic
    • Flexible schedule, must be able to work Holidays, Weekends, Evenings
    Physical Demands and Work Environment:
    • Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach
    • Push, pull or lift up to 30 pounds
    • Continuous repetitive motions
    • Work in hot, humid and noisy environment
    Licenses and Special Requirements
    • Food handler certification
    About our offer
    • Compensation: $20.00  per hour + House Service Charge Distribution Plan
    • This is seasonal part time, hourly non-exempt position that is eligible for overtime
    • Must be available for different types of shifts including nights, weekends, and Holidays
    • Benefits Sick Time and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
    • Lunches provided 6 days a week
    • Our golf course is open for staff to enjoy on Monday’s
