    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Host/Hostess is often the first and last point of contact guests have with Baggerstown and plays an important role in creating a welcoming, organized, and energetic atmosphere.

    Baggerstown is more than a restaurant. As a restaurant and entertainment venue, we strive to provide guests with great food, great service, and a fun experience from the moment they walk through the door. The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting guests, managing seating and wait times, answering questions, assisting with reservations and events, and helping the Front of House team maintain a smooth flow of service.

    The ideal candidate is friendly, professional, dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a busy restaurant and entertainment environment.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Greet every guest promptly with a friendly and welcoming attitude.

    • Create a positive first impression that reflects Baggerstown's standards for hospitality and customer service.

    • Manage the host stand and maintain an accurate seating and wait list.

    • Seat guests efficiently while maintaining appropriate server rotation and balancing sections.

    • Provide accurate estimated wait times and communicate delays professionally.

    • Answer incoming phone calls and provide guests with accurate information regarding hours, dining, entertainment, events, reservations, and other venue services.

    • Assist with reservations, large parties, special events, and entertainment-related guest inquiries.

    • Communicate regularly with servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, management, and other team members regarding seating, guest needs, and special circumstances.

    • Become knowledgeable about Baggerstown's menu, entertainment offerings, events, promotions, and facility layout.

    • Help guests navigate the venue and direct them to dining, entertainment, event, restroom, and other areas as needed.

    • Monitor the dining and guest areas to identify available tables and help maintain efficient guest flow.

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional host stand and entrance area.

    • Assist with cleaning and resetting tables or other Front of House duties when needed.

    • Recognize guest concerns and involve management when necessary to ensure issues are handled promptly and professionally.

    • Assist with opening and closing responsibilities assigned to the host position.

    • Follow all Baggerstown policies, procedures, safety requirements, and customer-service standards.

    • Perform additional Front of House duties as assigned by management.

    • Take ownership of guest questions and concerns rather than simply passing them along.

    • Help create the fun, welcoming atmosphere expected from the Baggerstown brand.

    • Work as part of the overall team and assist outside normal duties when necessary.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Previous restaurant, hospitality, entertainment, retail, or customer-service experience is preferred but not required.

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor.

    • Ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment.

    • Ability to manage multiple guests, tables, and priorities simultaneously.

    • Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

    • Basic computer/tablet skills and ability to learn Baggerstown's reservation or point-of-sale systems.

    • Must meet all applicable age and employment requirements.

    SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS

    Because Baggerstown operates as both a restaurant and entertainment venue, employees must be able to work during periods of peak guest activity. Availability may include:

    • Evenings

    • Weekends

    • Holidays

    • Special events

    • Tournaments

    • Private parties and large-group events

    Consistent and dependable attendance is an essential function of this position.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    The Host/Hostess must be able to:

    • Stand and walk for extended periods.

    • Frequently move throughout the restaurant and entertainment areas.

    • Bend, reach, and perform routine Front of House tasks.

    • Occasionally lift or move items weighing up to approximately 25 pounds.

    • Work in an environment that may include elevated noise levels, large crowds, music, sporting or entertainment activities, and periods of high guest volume.
