The host or hostess is the first and last point of contact for guests in our restaurant, responsible for welcoming guests, managing the flow of the dining room, and coordinating seating.  


Key Responsibilities 

• Greeting & Seating: Welcome guests warmly upon arrival, escort them to assigned tables or waiting areas, and hand out menus.
• Reservation & Waitlist Management: Take phone or digital bookings, track live table availability, and provide accurate wait-time estimates during busy shifts.
• Floor Coordination: Balance the rotation of tables among servers to keep workloads even and prevent kitchen bottlenecks.
• Customer Service: Answer initial menu and dietary questions, handle basic guest requests or complaints, and manage departures.
• Side Work & Maintenance: Keep the entrance clean and organized, stock menus, help clear or reset tables, and occasionally assist with to-go orders.

Required Skills & Qualifications
 

• Interpersonal Skills: A friendly, calm, and professional demeanor under high-pressure or crowded conditions.
• Organization: Strong multitasking abilities to manage a live floor plan, phone lines, and waiting guests simultaneously.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with the restaurant menu, daily specials, and seating layout.
• Education & Experience: Typically requires a high school diploma, with prior customer service or front-of-house hospitality experience preferred.
