Position Description

The Hospitality Associate supports Applied Medical's café and catering operations by delivering a smooth, professional customer experience from the point of sale through food preparation and service. This role executes daily catering schedules, maintains clean and organized work areas, and follows safe food handling practices to keep operations running efficiently. The Hospitality Associate plays a hands on part in day to day café and catering service, balancing speed, cleanliness, and strong customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Executes point of sale (POS) transactions and supports the customer journey, including checking stock, rotating items, and maintaining presentation.
• Assists with food packaging and light kitchen preparation as needed.
• Maintains clean, efficient work areas and conducts station and kitchen breakdown.
• Sustains store cleanliness through opening and closing checklists and labels and stores food by procedure at the end of each shift.
• Reads, supports the production of, and executes the daily catering schedule.
• Exhibits proper sanitation, cleanliness, and safe food handling practices in accordance with California health code requirements.

Position Requirements

This Position Requires the Following Skills and Attributes

• Holds a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Holds a food handler's certification.
• Reads and comprehends instructions and correspondence, including recipes, order sheets, and schedules.
• Demonstrates outstanding interpersonal skills, professionalism, warmth, and approachability.
• Applies working knowledge of sanitation, cleanliness, and safe food handling practices in accordance with health code requirements.
• Remains adaptable and calm under pressure.
• Multitasks effectively in a fast paced environment while meeting strict deadlines.
• Demonstrates basic knife skills, food display skills, and awareness of various cuisines and ingredients.

Preferred

The Following Skills and Attributes Are Preferred

• Brings two or more years of experience working in a restaurant, catering, or hotel setting.
• Brings two or more years of cashier and front of house experience.
