    Hours: 8-hour Shift

    Location: St. Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, MO

    Join our Inpatient Pharmacy team as a Hospital Pharmacist and help drive exceptional patient care in a fast-paced acute care setting. As an Inpatient Pharmacist, you will partner with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective medication therapy, optimize patient outcomes, and support medication safety initiatives through expert clinical pharmacy practice.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist, Hospital Pharmacist, or Acute Care Pharmacist seeking to make a direct impact on patient health while advancing their career in hospital pharmacy operations and medication management.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):

    • Review, verify, and accurately dispense medications for hospitalized patients.
    • Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness, safety, interactions, dosing, and therapeutic outcomes.
    • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams regarding medication therapy management.
    • Monitor patient medication regimens and recommend clinical interventions when appropriate.
    • Participate in antimicrobial stewardship, medication reconciliation, and patient safety initiatives.
    • Provide drug information and clinical consultation to healthcare team members.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, Joint Commission, and hospital regulations.
    • Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support staff.
    • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).

    Qualifications

    Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

    • Current state Registered Pharmacist License.
    • Experience in hospital pharmacy operations preferred.
    • B.S. degree in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.
    • BLS and ACLS certification preferred
