Pay Range: $30/hr - $35/hour. Traveler benefits as per agency package. (Benefits vary by vendor and assignment).
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, screen, and route a high volume of incoming calls through an electronic switchboard system.
- Take and relay telephone messages accurately and promptly.
- Greet, assist, escort, and direct visitors as needed.
- Provide general information and telephone directory assistance to callers and visitors.
- Maintain accurate on-call staff schedules.
- Support hospital response procedures for emergencies, drills, and code calls as directed.
- Use computer systems, databases, and email to support daily operations.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, visitors, staff, and providers.
- Work effectively in an environment with multiple tasks, interruptions, and changing priorities.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of operator, switchboard, receptionist, call center, or customer service experience.
- Strong English language skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and conflict management skills.
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment with frequent distractions.
- Basic computer proficiency, including:
- Windows programs
- Email systems
- Database systems
- Strong patience, courtesy, and professionalism when working with others.
- Prior healthcare, hospital, or medical center experience.
- Experience operating a multi-line phone or electronic switchboard.
