    Job Summary:

    HCA Hospital Based Services is seeking an experienced physician leader to serve as Regional Medical Director for Hospital Medicine across a four-hospital region in the Greater Orlando Florida Area.

    • HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital-Kissimmee, FL
    • Oviedo Medical Center-Oviedo, FL
    • UCF Lake Nona Hospital-Orlando, FL

    Position Overview

    The Regional Medical Director serves as the senior physician leader for Hospital Medicine programs throughout the region. This role provides strategic clinical, operational, quality, and professional leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while aligning hospitalist program performance with organizational and division goals. The Regional Medical Director partners closely with site chiefs, hospital executives, division leadership, and physician teams to drive clinical excellence, operational consistency, quality outcomes, provider engagement, and program growth across all facilities.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide executive physician leadership for regional Hospital Medicine programs
    • Partner with site chiefs to standardize best practices and improve program performance
    • Drive quality, safety, patient experience, and operational excellence initiatives
    • Foster physician engagement, professional development, and accountability
    • Serve as the primary physician liaison between hospitalist teams, hospital leadership, division leadership, and community stakeholders
    • Support strategic planning, program growth, recruitment, retention, and succession planning efforts
    • Monitor performance metrics and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the region
    • Ensure alignment of regional hospitalist operations with HCA's mission, values, and strategic objectives

     

    Qualified Candidates:

    • Board Certified in Internal Medicine
    • Demonstrated leadership experience in Hospital Medicine
    • Prior experience as a Medical Director/Site Chief or Regional Director preferred
    • Strong track record of improving quality, operational performance, provider engagement, and patient outcomes
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
