Job Title: Hospital Inpatient Pharmacist – Variable Shift (4 x 10-Hour Shifts)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Hospital Inpatient Pharmacist to join our acute care pharmacy team on a variable shift schedule (4 x 10-hour shifts). The ideal candidate will have recent inpatient hospital experience, current Epic proficiency, and the ability to provide safe, evidence-based pharmaceutical care across all patient populations, including pediatric and neonatal patients.

Schedule

  • Variable shifts

  • 4 x 10-hour shifts per week

  • Weekend and holiday rotation as required

Responsibilities

  • Verify and dispense medications accurately in an inpatient hospital setting.

  • Review medication orders for appropriateness, dosing, interactions, allergies, and therapeutic efficacy.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care.

  • Prepare, review, and supervise sterile compounding and IV medication preparation.

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.

  • Monitor patient medication therapy and recommend interventions as appropriate.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards.

  • Document clinical interventions and medication-related activities within the electronic medical record.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing (state-specific requirements apply).

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy (PharmD preferred).

  • Recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required.

  • Current Epic experience is required.

  • Must successfully pass IV competency/training.

  • Strong knowledge of sterile compounding and IV medication preparation.

  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.

Required Clinical Experience

Candidates must be familiar with pediatric and neonatal patient populations. These are considered high-risk age groups and require age-specific knowledge, awareness, and safe medication practices. Experience providing pharmaceutical care to pediatric and neonatal patients is strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a high-acuity acute care hospital.

  • Experience with neonatal intensive care (NICU), pediatric intensive care (PICU), or pediatric inpatient services.

  • Board certification (BCPS, BCPP, or other applicable specialty) preferred but not required.
