    Job Description:

    Vitalant is seeking a Hospital Distribution Technician dedicated to making a positive difference.     Your impact as a Hospital Distribution Technician is vital. You will support Vitalant's life-saving mission by managing the inventory of blood and blood products and facilitate the packaging and shipment to local hospitals and patients. Whether you are just starting your career, or new to the blood banking industry, we're here to train, mentor and help you grow.

    Schedule:

    Mon- Fri 1:00pm - 6:00pm Part-Time Hours

    + On-Call Rotation 1 week per month

    Starting Pay:

    $17.09 - $18.27 per hour (based on experience)

    What You'll Do As a Hospital Distribution Technician:

    • Receive, prepare, and ship routing, ASAP and STAT orders of blood and blood products, conducting a visual inspection of each product prior to shipment to ensure order accuracy.
    • During On-Call hours, you might get called to fulfill a STAT or ASAP order that a hospital needs for a patient, and then you would contact the courier to transport the blood to the hospital.
    • Communicate with hospital customers regarding order fulfilment, turnaround times, and product availability.
    • Use a great attention-to-detail when processing orders, entering inventory as well as entering data for orders to be shipped and/or received.
    • Maintain accurate hospital service records for transactions and process fees.
    • Monitor all storage requirements, service equipment and vehicle work areas.
    • Presently, this role does not drive - That could change in the near future and if needed to make a blood delivery you may need to drive to local hospitals.
    • High School diploma or GED required
    • Valid in-state driver's license
    • Six months of customer service experience required
    • Prior healthcare industry experience preferred
    • Able to lift 40lbs
