Major Job Responsibilities:
- Perform hospice monthly close process including hospice revenue and expense accruals
- Prepare monthly reconciliations, variance analysis, and communicate results with operations
- Assist accounts payable department and work closely with hospice vendors
- Assist in budgeting and review financial reports monthly for multiple hospice locations
- Assist external CPA firms with audit, tax, and cost reporting
- Assist in implementing accounting procedures and systems
- Review and implement necessary internal accounting controls
- Prepare statistical reports and financial data as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Three to five years of progressive hospice accounting experience
- Large Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system experience
- Knowledge of hospice revenue recognition and GAAP accounting
- Strong analytical skills – fluent in MS Office Excel (pivot tables and data base functions)
- Working knowledge of accounting systems such as Sage Intacct and BILL
- Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Problem solving skills and ability to deal with a variety of situations.
