HOA Attorney (3–4+ Years’ Experience) Full-Time | Attorney | Community Association / HOA Law

About the Role
A well-established Community Association / Homeowners Association (HOA) law practice is seeking an experienced HOA Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in community association law, real estate, litigation, or related areas. This role involves advising HOA boards, drafting governing documents, handling transactional matters, and supporting clients through a variety of legal issues that impact community associations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal counsel to HOA and condo association boards on governing documents, compliance, enforcement, and general operational matters.
  • Draft, review, and interpret covenants, bylaws, rules and regulations, and other governing documents.
  • Handle a mix of transactional, advisory, and, when needed, litigation?related matters.
  • Prepare and review contracts, vendor agreements, and corporate documents.
  • Guide boards on fair housing, state statutes, collections, and dispute resolution.
  • Represent associations in administrative or judicial proceedings, as needed.
  • Attend board meetings (occasionally evenings) as part of client support.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide responsive and practical legal guidance.


Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) and active membership in the state bar (in good standing).
  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience in HOA/condo law, real estate law, civil litigation, or related practice areas.
  • Strong knowledge of state HOA statutes and community association governance (or willingness to quickly become proficient).
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Client?service mindset and interest in long?term advisory relationships.


Preferred Experience
  • Prior work with community associations or HOA boards.
  • Litigation or collections experience related to community associations.
  • Experience drafting governing documents or conducting board training.
