    Location: Danville, VA & Surrounding Areas (In-Home Patient Care)

    Schedule: Part-Time / PRN (Flexible Scheduling Available)

    Pay: Competitive Rates + Mileage Reimbursement (Based on Experience)

    Job Overview

    We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Home Health Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide personalized, one-on-one therapy services to patients throughout Danville, VA and the surrounding areas.

    As a Home Health COTA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to carry out individualized treatment plans designed to help patients improve their ability to safely and independently complete daily activities within their homes.

    This position is ideal for a COTA who enjoys building meaningful relationships with patients, working independently in a home health setting, and helping individuals regain independence following illness, injury, or changes in functional ability.

    Responsibilities of Home Health COTA

    • Provide occupational therapy services according to the treatment plan established by the supervising Occupational Therapist
    • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve strength, coordination, mobility, and functional independence
    • Help patients improve their ability to complete activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, and meal preparation
    • Provide training on the safe and appropriate use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices
    • Reinforce home safety and fall-prevention strategies established by the Occupational Therapist
    • Monitor and document patient progress and communicate changes in condition or function to the supervising OT
    • Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, adaptive techniques, safety practices, and strategies for greater independence
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including OT, PT, SLP, RN, LPN, CNA, and HHA
    • Complete accurate and timely documentation of therapy visits and patient progress
    • Follow established plans of care and agency policies while providing services in patients' homes

    Qualifications of Home Health COTA

    • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
    • Active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state of Virginia
    • Current CPR certification and TB screening
    • Ability to provide therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
    • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
    • Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused
    • Comfortable traveling to patients' homes throughout Danville and surrounding areas
    • Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with the supervising OT and interdisciplinary care team
