The Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager with the daily operations of our bustling thrift store. In this dynamic position, you will supervise team members, volunteers, and community service workers, fostering a collaborative atmosphere. You’ll oversee sales and cashiering functions, ensuring a seamless customer experience while maintaining a clean and organized store environment. Your efforts will directly contribute to achieving store productivity goals and effective donation processing, making a tangible difference in the community.

Reporting to the Store Manager, you will also have the opportunity to lead in their absence, further enhancing your leadership skills and enriching your career. This role is ideal for mission-driven individuals passionate about retail and community service.

Does this sound like you?

To excel as an Assistant Store Manager at the Particular Council of St. Vincent de Paul, candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED, along with at least two years of retail experience that includes sales and cashiering. Some supervisory or lead experience is preferred. Proficiency in using a point-of-sale (POS) system and basic skills in Excel and Word are essential for streamlined operations. Strong customer service skills are crucial, enabling you to interact courteously with customers, donors, and team members.

Successful candidates will demonstrate leadership by example, effectively resolving conflicts and following established processes. Flexibility and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment are important, as is a willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Church and St. Vincent de Paul. Physical stamina is necessary, too, as you will be on your feet for extended periods and may lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
