    Summary

    Hamilton Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our athletic program as an assistant volleyball coach. The ideal candidate will support the head coach in developing student-athletes' skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive and inclusive environment. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about volleyball and committed to mentoring young athletes.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practices, drills, and game strategies.
    • Provide instruction on volleyball techniques, rules, and sportsmanship to students.
    • Help organize and supervise team activities, including games, tournaments, and transportation.
    • Monitor and assess the progress of student-athletes, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
    • Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, teamwork, and personal growth.
    • Communicate effectively with athletes and school staff regarding schedules, expectations, and team events.
    • Assist in maintaining equipment and ensuring a safe practice and playing environment.
    • Attend all scheduled practices, games, and team meetings throughout the season.
    • Support the head coach in implementing training programs and conditioning exercises.
    • Help with administrative tasks as needed, including record-keeping and reporting.

    Requirements

    • Previous experience playing or coaching volleyball at the middle school, high school, or collegiate level.
    • Strong knowledge of volleyball techniques, rules, and strategies.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive team environment.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach, athletes, and parents.
    • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before the season).
    • Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check per school board policy.
    • Availability to commit to the entire season, including practices, games, and events.
