    Description

    Healthcare Integration Engineer Role & Location

    • Role: Healthcare Integration Engineer HL7 & Interoperability

    • Location: US / Ontario, Canada

    • Work: Remote with occasional travel

    Key Responsibilities

    • Analyze and implement healthcare system integrations.

    • Design and develop HL7 v2.x interfaces.

    • Integrate EMR/EHR, LIS, RIS, PACS, billing, and third-party systems.

    • Perform message mapping, transformation, routing, and validation.

    • Troubleshoot interface/data exchange issues.

    • Handle testing, go-live, and post-production support.

    • Maintain interface specifications and technical documentation.

    • Collaborate with developers, clinicians, vendors, and project teams.

    • Ensure healthcare privacy, security, and compliance.

    Mandatory Skills

    • Strong HL7 v2.x experience.

    • Knowledge of ADT, ORM, ORU, SIU, DFT, MDM, VXU.

    • Experience with an Interface Engine: Mirth/NextGen, Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, Ensemble/IRIS, Corepoint, or IBM.

    • Strong SQL/database querying skills.

    • Knowledge of XML, JSON, XSLT, REST/SOAP.

    • Scripting: JavaScript, Java, Python, or similar.

    • Understanding of TCP/IP, VPN, SFTP, APIs, and healthcare interoperability.

    Good to Have

    • FHIR, CDA/CCD, X12, DICOM.

    • Azure/AWS/GCP integration experience.

    • DevOps/CI-CD exposure.

    • HIPAA/HITECH knowledge.

    • Healthcare data migration experience.
