Job Title: Scrum Master (Agile Delivery)
Location: Orlando, FL (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 Months Contract (Possibility of Extension/Conversion)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Certified Scrum Master to lead Agile software development teams and drive successful delivery using Scrum and SAFe methodologies. The ideal candidate will coach cross-functional teams, facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove impediments, and promote continuous improvement while collaborating closely with Product Owners, Release Train Engineers (RTEs), and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Delivery & Scrum Leadership
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives, and Sprint Demos.
- Guide teams in adopting Agile/Scrum principles, values, and best practices.
- Coach teams on story writing, story splitting, story mapping, backlog refinement, and Agile estimation techniques.
- Partner with Product Owners to prioritize and refine the product backlog.
- Collaborate with Release Train Engineers (RTEs) to ensure alignment across Agile Release Trains.
- Remove team impediments and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Drive team self-organization, accountability, transparency, and sustainable delivery velocity.
- Assess Scrum maturity and mentor teams toward higher levels of Agile maturity.
- Serve as the team's Scrum expert and coach teams to improve Agile practices.
- Maintain Rally (or equivalent Agile management tool) with accurate sprint and backlog information.
Communication & Collaboration
- Build strong relationships with Product Owners, RTEs, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Foster a collaborative, transparent, and psychologically safe team environment.
- Communicate team priorities, progress, risks, and dependencies effectively.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to support successful project delivery.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and encourage proactive problem-solving.
- Assist with internal and external communication to improve transparency across teams.
Metrics & Reporting
- Track and communicate Agile metrics including velocity, burndown charts, sprint progress, and team objectives.
- Publish dashboards and information radiators for stakeholders.
- Ensure Agile management tools accurately reflect the current project status.
- Support Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) policies and perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7 years of Agile/Scrum experience, including at least 2 years as a Scrum Master.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) certification is required.
- Strong understanding of Agile software development lifecycle and Scrum framework.
- Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and coaching Agile teams.
- Experience with:
- Story writing, story splitting, and story mapping
- Relative estimation and Agile release planning
- Sprint retrospectives and continuous improvement
- Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
- Knowledge of software development processes and modern IT technologies.
- Strong facilitation, servant leadership, coaching, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across business and technology teams.
- Experience working with Release Train Engineers (RTEs), Product Owners, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to coordinate with external vendors and enterprise teams.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
