Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced OSP Engineer II with a strong background in outside plant (OSP) fiber network design and telecommunications infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience with fiber plant engineering, construction practices, engineering systems, and GIS-based design tools to support network planning and deployment.
Responsibilities
- Design and support fiber outside plant (OSP) infrastructure and related network projects.
- Apply knowledge of fiber plant design and general construction practices.
- Utilize engineering applications and databases to support network planning, documentation, and project execution.
- Work with GIS and mapping tools including ArcGIS/ESRI, 3GIS, and Google Earth.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio.
- Apply knowledge of network plant standards and local engineering practices.
- Support right-of-way, property rights, and permit acquisition activities as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate engineering designs and project deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering, fiber design, or telecommunications network engineering.
- Experience in the telecommunications, data networking, or wireless industry.
- Strong understanding of fiber plant design and construction methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with engineering systems and databases.
- Proficiency with:
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio
- ArcGIS/ESRI
- 3GIS
- Google Earth
- Knowledge of network plant engineering standards and local practices.
- Working knowledge of right-of-way (ROW), property rights, and permit acquisition.
Preferred Education
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
