Athelstan School is looking to appoint an outstanding and highly motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our hard-working, dedicated team. The post is 12.5 hours per week, working across Key Stage Two, providing PPA cover for teaching staff.

 

We would like someone who is flexible, self-motivated, resilient and positively promotes inclusion, has high expectations for all and will be keen to set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils including those with additional needs. The successful candidate must have experience of working with children in a primary setting within Key Stage Two.

  • Hardworking with a 'can do' attitude
  • Conscientious and Enthusiastic
  • A desire to help children reach their potential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Calm understanding manner
  • Has experience of positive behaviour strategies
  • Is committed to supporting high standards of teaching and learning throughout school
  • Is keen to work as part of a close team, as well as have the ability to develop warm relationships with children, colleagues and parents.
  • HLTA status (or working towards it), alongside a good standard of education in English and Maths (GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent).
  • Proven classroom experience supporting teaching and learning, with the ability to lead whole classes independently under a teacher's overall direction.
