Role Summary / Purpose
Transforms initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working documents. Reviews engineering drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards. Performs a variety of complicated tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Transform rough product designs into working CAD documents
- Review engineering drawings and designs for adherence to specifications and standards
- Read and decipher construction field revisions and incorporate them into CAD drawings
- May direct and lead the work of others
Requirements - Education & Experience
- Associate''s degree in a related area
- 10+ years of experience in CAD drafting or related field
- Experience as a drafter preferred over designer/engineer background
Required Skills
- Proficiency with CAD software
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and design specifications
- Ability to plan and accomplish goals independently
Nice-to-Have / Preferred Skills
- Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD/AutoDesk
- Experience with design of high voltage substations
- Electric utility industry experience
- Experience or familiarity with document management systems
- Experience reading and incorporating construction field revisions
Employment Details - Type, Location, Hours
Full time, hybrid position with 3 days per week in office. Generally 40 hours per week; overtime can be worked as needed with pre-approval.
