HumanHire has partnered with a precision electronics and aerospace manufacturing company in Uniondale, to help find an High Vacuum Technician to join their growing team!

We are seeking a hands-on Vacuum Systems Technician to support installation, operations, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of high and ultra-high vacuum systems used in specialized manufacturing and research environments.

Salary: up to $90,000/yr (based on experience)

Location: Merrick, NY

Schedule: 9/80 schedule, Monday-Friday, with alternating Fridays off!

High Vacuum Technician Responsibilities:
  • Assemble, install, operate, maintain, and repair high and ultra-high vacuum systems, components, piping, fittings, and valves.
  • Diagnose vacuum system issues, identify leaks using helium mass spectrometers, and perform troubleshooting to maintain system integrity and performance.
  • Operate and maintain mechanical, turbomolecular, cryogenic, diffusion, and ion pumps. Calibrate and repair vacuum gauges and controllers.
  • Perform precise welding and hands-on assembly of vacuum system components, including stainless steel piping and fittings.
  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance, maintain detailed service records, and support equipment reliability.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and R&D teams on vacuum testing, experimental setups, and specialized manufacturing projects.

High Vaccuum Technician Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working with high or ultra-high vacuum systems.
  • Precision welding experience required.
  • Experience troubleshooting vacuum systems and performing leak detections using helium spectrometers.
  • Knowledge of vacuum theory, pressure measurement, and vacuum system operation.
  • Familiarity with stainless steel piping, fittings, and vacuum system assembly.
