    Frontier Regional School is located in the heart of the Pioneer Valley, not far from the renowned Five Colleges; University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Smith College, Mount Holyoke College, Amherst College, and Hampshire College. The school serves 630 students in grades 7 -12 and is the public high school for the towns of Conway, Deerfield, Sunderland, and Whately.

    Frontier students are enrolled in a wide range of academic programs including AP courses which are offered in all of the core content areas, a college preparation program of studies, and a number of specialized programs and support services. In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in school day and extra-curricular activities in athletics, visual and performing arts, technology, and numerous clubs.

    Special Educators at Frontier:

    • Support students in a variety of content areas.
    • Work with general education teachers in an inclusion setting to ensure appropriate accommodations/modifications are available for students to access the curriculum.
    • Provide direct pull out instruction in all content areas when needed.
    • Are knowledgeable of community resources and organizations.
    • Are knowledgeable of behavioral intervention strategies and possess the ability to motivate reluctant learners.
    • Write Individual Education Plans and report quarterly progress.
    • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, and families.
    • Adapt to the scheduling needs of their student caseload.

    Educational or other qualifications required:

    • Understanding and familiarity with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
    • Bachelor's degree
    • On path to receive MA Licensure
    • At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred but not required
    • Citizenship, residency or work VISA in the United States required
