Summary:
The Principal at Coloma High School will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the school, ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment for students and staff, and promoting academic excellence. The candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and a passion for education.
Responsibilities:
Implement policies and procedures that promote a positive learning environment
Provide visionary leadership to the high school, ensuring a safe, inclusive and engaging environment
Collaborate with teachers, staff and parents to enhance student achievement and well-being
Supervise and evaluate staff performance, providing support and guidance as needed
Manage the school budget and resources effectively and ensure it aligns with the District Strategic Plan
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
Monitor student progress and provide interventions as needed to ensure academic success
Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to education
Plan and organize school events and activities that promote school spirit and community involvement
Supervise/attend evening activities & sporting events
Manage small enrollment in online virtual program
Maintain a safe and secure school environment, addressing any safety concerns or incidents that arise
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree(Master's preferred) in education or related field
Valid teaching certification and administrative license
Minimum of 5 years of experience in education, preferred at least 2 years in a leadership role preferred
Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively
Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to education
Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve common goals
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically
