Location: Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver-ACAND-Brighton, COFLSA Status: Non-ExemptReports to: Athletic Director Work Hours/Days: This position requires availability generally Mondays thru Fridays in the late afternoons and evenings during the sport seasonFall Season (August - November)Practice/game days held during the school week and on Saturdays as neededWeekly hours will be approximately 10-20 hoursDesired Start Date: August 3, 2026Stipend Wage Range: $2,000.00 or higher based on coaching experienceThere will be a one-time payout upon the completion of your seasonPosition Summary:As head coach, you will assume the role of leader of student-athletes and all associated staff. The Head Coach is expected to serve as the public face of the program, creating and maintaining a positive public image as a representative of Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver. This position collaborates directly with and reports to the Athletic Director. Key Responsibilities.As the leader of the volleyball program, your leadership will effectively guide all athletes and assistant coaches in a visionary manner that promotes development, growth, and competitiveness of athletic competitionThe head coach is responsible for establishing the planning and implementation of all practices, training sessions, game strategies and preparation, and coaching of all student-athletesCoaches are expected to thoroughly understand and to apply all of the rules, principles, and competitive strategies of the sport they coachDemonstrate proficient knowledge in the physical and mental training of competitive athletes along with the integration of sport strategies that elevate the performance of all team membersHave the essential knowledge and capabilities to create and implement a safe, coherent and effective training program concentrated on the physical development for all athletesCreate a visionary process focusing on the building and sustainment of the long term success of the programPossess the ability to effectively communicate well both verbally and in writing with all activities staff, parents, students, news media, other staff members, and visitors to the schoolEfficaciously oversee the safety of all team personnel through proper planning and management of organizational policiesAssist with the development of the middle school volleyball program as necessaryCoaches are expected to be present at all in-season and out-of-season practices and at all gamesBe available to attend all CHSAA and league meetings as requestedAssist with set up and take down of equipment for practices and gamesComplete all required training and provide documentation as well as official college transcripts within 90 days of hire dateDemonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operationsDemonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English to effectively perform their job responsibilities and communicate in the workplacePerform other duties as assigned Position Requirements:Prefer a college degree but requires at least a high school diploma or GEDPrevious high school or middle school cross country or track coaching experience preferredExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to work collaboratively with diverse groups of individualsCommitment to fostering a positive and all-encompassing team environmentComplete all required coaching training prior to the start of each sport seasonLoyalty to the mission and vision of the school and ACACSCommitment to model moral character in line with the school's core virtuesAdherence to all ACACS policies, including but not limited to the Athletic Handbook, Employee Handbook, Family Handbook, and all applicable school and board policiesPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 15 poundsMust be able to traverse the sports complex, field, or court
