Duties

MHS is seeking a Family and Consumer Science Teacher at the Secondary Level to join our Team! This is an anticipated position for the 2026-2027 school year.

Duties:

Candidate will teach courses in; Intro to FCS, Culinary Arts I & II, Child Growth, Parenting, Family Relations, Sewing, Child Careers

Necessary Skills Sought:

• Excellent classroom management or a willingness to learn
• To maintain an orderly classroom.
• Serve as a valued member of a learning community.
• Promote and maintain an air of collegiality among all staff members.
• Maintain a partnership with parents for the benefit of all students.
• Maintain daily attendance and grade records.
• Demonstrate a skill of computer literacy.
• Maintain all necessary materials to promote an environment that is conducive to learning.
• Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
• Maintain communication and feedback from students in a manner that enhances students' learning and understanding.
• To bring passion and enthusiasm daily.
• To always be "hungry" for a good challenge.
• To be willing to learn and grow.
• To be willing to get out of your comfort zone.
• To be willing to do your part daily.
• To be willing to do "extra" (collaboratively) for the greater good.
• To enjoy working with a diverse group of students of different socio-economic backgrounds.
• To have a sense of humor.
• To have patience.
• To be able to have fun…at work.

Qualifications

Necessary required licensing and certification, or willingness to complete licensing based on related professional experience

Salary/Benefits

$42,020-84,739 Per Collective Bargaining Agreement based on experience
