Student Support & Counseling
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students and families.
- Provide individual and small-group counseling to address academic, social, emotional, and personal concerns.
- Assist students experiencing challenges that may interfere with attendance, achievement, or school engagement.
- Respond to student crises and collaborate with administrators, families, and outside agencies when appropriate.
- Help students develop problem-solving, decision-making, self-advocacy, and organizational skills.
- Serve as an advocate for students while helping them understand expectations, responsibilities, and consequences.
- Help Administer mandatory IDOE testing
- Help create master schedule
Academic Planning & Graduation
- Monitor student progress toward graduation and proactively identify students who are off track.
- Develop and maintain four-year academic plans with students.
- Assist with course selection, scheduling, schedule changes, and appropriate academic placement.
- Review transcripts, credits, graduation requirements, and academic progress.
- Work with teachers, administrators, and families to develop interventions for struggling students.
- Coordinate credit recovery and alternative pathways when appropriate.
- Help ensure students understand diploma requirements and available academic opportunities.
College, Career & Postsecondary Readiness
- Guide students through college, career, military, apprenticeship, and workforce pathways.
- Assist students with college applications, scholarships, financial aid, FAFSA, and other postsecondary processes.
- Support students in identifying career interests and connecting those interests to appropriate coursework and experiences.
- Collaborate with school and community partners to expand college and career opportunities.
- Support Cascades commitment to ensuring students graduate with a clear plan for Enrollment, Employment, or Enlistment.
- Assist students with work-based learning and other College and Career Readiness opportunities.
Student Services
- Work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, special education staff, school psychologists, nurses, and other members of the Student Services team.
- Participate in student support meetings and help coordinate interventions for students experiencing academic, behavioral, attendance, or personal difficulties.
- Monitor attendance concerns and work with students and families to improve school attendance.
- Participate in 504 and IEP meetings, case conferences, and other student support processes as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with students, parents, staff, and outside agencies.
- Help connect students and families with school and community resources.
School Culture & Student Experience
- Be highly visible, accessible, and actively involved in the daily life of Cascade High School.
- Support a positive school culture where students feel known, valued, challenged, and supported.
- Participate in school events, student activities, parent programs, and other opportunities to build relationships with the Cascade community.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to address barriers to student success.
- Promote student ownership of academic performance, attendance, behavior, and postsecondary planning.
- Contribute to Cascade High Schools commitment to providing an outstanding student experience.
