High School Assistant Football Coach
JOB GOAL: To instruct all students in the fundamental skills and knowledge of the sport or activity. To provide an atmosphere for successful individual development through monitoring, evaluating, and reinforcing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
EMPLOYEES ARE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR ALL FUNCTIONS OF THIS JOB.
QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND MENTAL ABILITY:
Have a fundamental knowledge of the club or activity.
Ability to select from a variety of instruction methods to teach activity objectives.
Possess sound emotional judgment.
Possess a full understanding and carrying out of "maintenance of confidentiality" as it relates to students and staff they are to work with on a daily basis.
EDUCATION, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:
Possess all certificates required for the State of Wyoming
Possess current First Aid and CPR certification
EQUIPMENT USED:
Varies by specific sport or activity
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
ALL SPORTS:
Ability to sit on a bus for hour after hour.
Ability to carry and/or provide aid for an injured player.
BASKETBALL:
Ability to coach at a high intensity level during practices and games.
Ability to move quickly from drill to drill with a definite direction.
Ability to remove an injured player from the court.
TRACK / CROSS COUNTRY:
Ability to hear and be heard for up to 120 meters.
Ability to demonstrate agility drills and stretching exercises.
WRESTLING:
Ability to direct activities (coaching) for extended periods of time.
Ability to demonstrate wrestling techniques.
VOLLEYBALL:
Ability to toss balls to a specific spot or target.
Ability to demonstrate various skills and verbally describe.
Ability to visually analyze various physical and mental volleyball skills
Ability to run drills for periods of up to 1-2 hours without fatiguing.
FOOTBALL:
Ability to remove an injured player from the field.
Ability to run drills for periods of up to 1-2 hours without fatiguing.
Ability to hear and be heard outdoors for up to 50 yards.
ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Occupationally exposed to bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials based on task and procedures required.
Occasional exposure to bus fumes.
FOOTBALL:
Ability to coach in a variety of temperatures.
BASKETBALL:
Ability to coach in a variety of temperatures.
TRACK / CROSS COUNTRY:
Ability to handle exposure to fall/spring conditions outdoors wind, sun, snow, etc.
WRESTLING:
Ability to withstand high temperatures for prolonged periods of time.
VOLLEYBALL:
Ability to coach in a variety of temperatures.
