High School Assistant Drama Sponsor
JOB GOAL: To instruct all students in the fundamental skills and knowledge of the sport or activity. To provide an atmosphere for successful individual development through monitoring, evaluating, and reinforcing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to develop drill and practice activities that teach and enhance individual/team skill development that makes up the game/activity.
- Develop and maintain an inventory list of equipment.
- Prepares and implements a schedule of checking out, maintaining, and checking in equipment.
- Ability to plan and enforce appropriate safety and health rules and regulations.
- Ability to develop a supervision plan that ensures the safety and welfare of students at all times: locker room, trips, practices, etc.
- Maintains confidentiality about students and others.
- Presents a professional appearance.
- Ability to be an effective communicator with all audiences players, parents, supervisors, peers and spectators.
- Ability to receive, understand and follow directions.
- Be able to model/demonstrate activities and equipment used to develop basic skills or physical condition.
- Ability to observe, diagnose, and prescribe appropriate remediation activities during practice and game conditions for players and team.
- Must know and be able to apply the developmental stages of each point of the game to the needs and ability levels of the team/players.
- Assimilate innovations and adapt to changes where applicable.
- Support the philosophies of Converse County School District #2 activities.
- Promotes positive public relations with the community and within the school district by using positive verbal and non-verbal communication and interaction skills at all times.
- May be responsible for supervising students on out-of-town activities. This may involve staing overnight.
EMPLOYEES ARE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR ALL FUNCTIONS OF THIS JOB.
QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND MENTAL ABILITY:
Have a fundamental knowledge of the club or activity.
Ability to select from a variety of instruction methods to teach activity objectives.
Possess sound emotional judgment.
Possess a full understanding and carrying out of "maintenance of confidentiality" as it relates to students and staff they are to work with on a daily basis.
EDUCATION, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:
Possess all certificates required for the State of Wyoming
Possess current First Aid and CPR certification

Varies by specific sport or activity

ALL SPORTS:
Ability to sit on a bus for hour after hour.
Ability to carry and/or provide aid for an injured player.
