Job Overview
The Aide Special Education Functional Living and School Health Services FLaSH will provide direct support services to students with disabilities in a variety of educational settings in order to access the curriculum in the students least restrictive environment. Assist teacher and staff in performing a variety of tasks by implementing and/or documenting the students individualized education plan (IEP), including academics, behavior, communication, social, and personal care skills. Maintain an environment that is safe and engaging for all students.
The FLaSH program generally serves students with significant physical and/or cognitive disabilities. The students may not be independently mobile and often times require full assistance to care for their daily needs. The focus of instruction is visual and auditory stimulation, motor skills development, assistive technology, interaction with others, and if possible, communication skills. Often times these students are medically fragile and they may require custodial care.
