Step into a day running high-pressure aluminum die casting
You’ll operate advanced high-pressure aluminum die cast machines to produce precision parts for the automotive and on-highway truck sectors. From setting dies to fine-tuning process parameters, you’ll keep production running safely and smoothly.
Where you’ll work
Our Clackamas, OR facility sits just off I-205 — an easy commute from Sandy, Estacada, Clackamas, or Milwaukie.
Your shift options and pay
- Swing: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM (+$1.25/hour premium)
- Grave: Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM (+$2.00/hour premium)
- Starting pay: $24.04/hour for the first 90 days, then $24.61/hour
- Schedule: 40-hour work week

What you’ll master on the floor
- Using an overhead crane to position specified die sections into the machine
- Bolting die sections in place and adjusting the ram stroke
- Performing safety checks and correcting hazards before operation
- Hooking up die cooling water, preheating die sections with an electric heater
- Regulating cooling flow and machine speed based on part design and metal temperature/type
- Setting and tuning air/spray systems to clear metal fragments and apply lubricant to the die cavity and plunger
- Configuring automatic equipment to ladle molten metal into the machine chamber
- Maintaining correct metal level and temperature in the holding furnace throughout the shift
- Understanding process parameters, measuring them consistently, and making machine adjustments for compliance
