    Key Responsibilities
    • Specialized Memory Support: Utilize redirection, validation therapy, and engagement techniques tailored to the cognitive needs of clients with Alzheimer’s/Dementia.
    • Behavioral Management: Maintain a secure environment, managing behavioral changes or agitation with a calm, professional, and empathetic demeanor.
    • Cognitive Engagement: Lead clients in cognitive stimulation activities, such as puzzles, music, or reminiscing, to promote mental well-being and joy.
    • Dignified Personal Care: Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)—including bathing, dressing, and grooming—navigating potential care refusal with patience.
    • Safety & Monitoring: Provide vigilant supervision to prevent wandering and ensure the home remains a safe, hazard-free environment.
    • Clinical Communication: Monitor and track changes in the client’s condition and proactively update the Director of Nursing and family members.
    • Nutritional Support: Prepare nutritious meals and provide consistent hydration reminders, adhering to specific dietary requirements.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate, detailed records of care, vitals, and any subtle shifts in cognitive status.
    Requirements
    • Licensure: Current, unrestricted HHA or CNA license in the state of Indiana.
    • Certifications:Certified CPR/BLS and negative 2-step TB skin test or chest x-ray or quantiferon
    • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience in a home health agency or facility; direct experience in Dementia/Alzheimer’s care is required.
    • Skills: Exceptional assessment skills and the ability to think critically in a home-care setting.
    • Transportation: Licensed driver with valid automobile insurance and reliable transportation.
    • Physical Ability:
      • Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull to provide varied assistance based on client mobility.
      • Must be able to safely lift and transfer up to 50 pounds.
