    Summary

    University of Vermont Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team at the FitzPatrick Cancer Center, part of Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital located in Plattsburgh, New York. 

    The NP/PA will see approximately 10 – 12 patients per clinic shift, conducting pre-treatment and long-term follow-up visits, managing symptoms associated with chemotherapy and radiation treatments, and may include some coverage for infusion therapies.

    Schedule

    • This is a full-time 1.0 FTE exempt position that will be working primarily Monday – Friday during daytime outpatient hours (8am – 5pm).  There is some flexibility for scheduling per APP preference.

    Experience

    Ideal candidates will have 2+ years clinical APP-level oncology experience. New graduates with experience caring for oncology patients in previous positions, clinical rotation(s) in oncology, and a demonstrated interest in specializing may be considered.  Success in this position will require extensive knowledge of disease processes, chemotherapy administration, symptom management, supportive care, and patient education.


    Education and Licensure

    • Bachelor's degree required; master’s or doctorate degree preferred.

    • Current (or eligible) unencumbered New York State licensure as a PA or NP required.
