Job Description
Performs intermediate technical and administrative support work supporting the information technology services department, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Information Technology Services Deputy Director.

Qualifications
Ability to handle and process confidential and privileged information; thorough knowledge of the operation, uses and capabilities of technology equipment; thorough knowledge of hardware and software procedures and techniques; thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and office assistance techniques; thorough knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic; thorough knowledge of the organization and functions of the department and of general administrative policies and practices; general knowledge of systems analysis and networking; ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions; ability to analyze software programs and make adjustments; ability to keep office records and to prepare accurate reports from file sources; ability to perform and organize work independently; ability to prepare effective correspondence independently; ability to operate standard office equipment including personal computer and knowledge of applicable software packages; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public; ability to perform moderately complex accounting and bookkeeping projects in accordance with accepted accounting principles.
Education, Experience, and Special Requirements
Associates/Technical degree with coursework in information systems, business administration, communications, or related field and considerable experience in information technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelors degree preferred.

Physical Requirements
This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions, frequently requires standing, walking, pushing or pulling and lifting and occasionally requires climbing or balancing and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a very quiet location (e.g. park trail, storage or file room).

North Carolina Local Governmental Employees Retirement System
Eligible employees are automatically enrolled in the retirement system and must contribute 6% of their gross salary each pay period. Once eligibility requirements are met, employees will be able to receive monthly payments for life based on their salary, age, and years of service credit.
NC401k
The County contributes 1% of employees gross salary into the 401(k) account regardless of the employees deferral amount. In addition, the County matches employee deferrals up to an additional 4%.
Vacation Leave
Regular full-time employees earn 13.5 days of vacation leave per year. With each 5-year increment of employment, vacation accrual increases.
Sick Leave
Regular full-time employees earn 12 days of sick leave per year.
Paid Holidays
County employees receive paid holidays annually. The Board of County Commissioners approves and may adjust the schedule as deemed necessary.
ComPsych Mental Health Services
The County provides Mental Health and Life Services through ComPsych to help employees and their families with personal, family and job-related problems such as counseling, crisis support, work-life resources, legal and financial consultations, and organizational support tools.

County employees are also offered a variety of supplemental benefits such as Life Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, 457b Deferred Compensation Plan, and MetLife Supplemental Plans.
