Shape complex helical forms that power plastics manufacturing
Join us to machine injection molding and extrusion screws used in equipment that produces plastic products. You will work with alloy steel, tool steel, and high‑temperature alloys such as Inconel. Parts span a wide envelope—from 1" OD x 20" long up to 10" OD x 25' long—milled on a custom VMC with a rotary head to cut helixes across X, Y, Z, and A axes.
A day in the life
- Own the entire process: set up, machine, edit, deburr, and inspect your work.
- Program interaction is constant—expect to make in‑process adjustments and restart programs mid‑stream as needed.
- Work from prints and detailed instructions to produce precision one‑off parts; production runs seldom exceed five pieces.
- Problem‑solve at the machine; this is not a push‑button, start‑to‑finish job shop environment.
Beyond the VMC
At times, you will also run conventional knee mills, horizontal boring mills, and lathes.
