Heavy Truck Mobile Technician
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Truck Mobile Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and commercial equipment at customer locations and at breakdown location. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, safety-conscious, and capable of providing high-quality repairs while working independently in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and commercial vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, air brake systems, suspension, steering, driveline, cooling, HVAC, and hydraulic systems.
- Respond to roadside service calls and emergency breakdowns.
- Complete inspections and identify repair recommendations.
- Use diagnostic software and specialized tools to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed.
- Accurately document work performed, parts used, and labor hours.
- Maintain inventory of service truck tools, equipment, and repair parts.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding repair status and recommendations.
- Follow all DOT, OSHA, environmental, and company safety policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully operational mobile service vehicle.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 3+ years of experience repairing heavy-duty diesel trucks or commercial equipment.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, and diagnostics.
- Experience with electronic diagnostic software and scan tools.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
- ASE or OEM certifications are a plus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Must be willing to be on call 24/7 w/ scheduled time off.Â
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Frequently stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate heavy tools and equipment.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation when needed.

Work Environment
