Job Title: Heavy Maintenance Mechanic (PLC Experience Required)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Maintenance Mechanic with strong PLC troubleshooting experience to join our maintenance team. This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing industrial manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background, electrical knowledge, and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on heavy industrial machinery and production equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled systems, including diagnosing faults in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Install, modify, and maintain motors, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and automated systems.
Support production by responding quickly to equipment breakdowns and minimizing downtime.
Assist with equipment upgrades, rebuilds, and continuous improvement projects.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation of repairs performed.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting and working with PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
Strong understanding of electrical systems (480V, 3-phase), hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical components.
Ability to use diagnostic tools and maintenance equipment effectively.
Forklift or other equipment certifications preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds.
Ability to stand, bend, climb, and work in confined spaces as needed.
Comfortable working in a production environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
