About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and experienced welder to join our client's team in the heavy industrial sector. In this role, you will contribute to performing specialty welding tasks, ensuring high-quality welds, and maintaining safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate a NAP (universal Welder)
- Perform specialty welding tasks on spool pieces, flanges, etc.
- Conduct MIG welding on carbon steel pipes
- Inspect work for defects and ensure proper alignment of fittings
- Check the end grooves for proper depth and identify any bad seams or splits in pipes
- Maintain a clean and safe welding station while conforming to all safety and quality standards
- Report all equipment malfunctions and safety issues that require repairs
Requirements
- 3-5 years of welding and fabrication background
- Ability to read a tape measure
- 1 year of computer experience, including Outlook/Email
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- General reading and writing skills
- Willingness to work 2nd shift hours: 3pm-1:30am, Mon-Thurs, with mandatory overtime on Fridays
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with safety and quality standards in a welding environment
- Familiarity with online training platforms like Workday
