Step into a core maintenance position that keeps a world-scale steel operation moving. As an Electrical Maintenance Technician at U. S. Steel, you will install, maintain, repair, and operate a wide range of electrical systems and equipment in a heavy industrial setting to support continuous operations. You will work with standard and specialized tools and equipment, including mobile equipment, pendant and overhead cranes, and forklifts.
Submitting this application covers all three Mon Valley plants: Clairton Works, Irvin Works, and Edgar Thomson Works.
Your shift will blend troubleshooting on live production equipment with planned maintenance. You’ll interpret schematics, work across AC/DC systems, diagnose PLC issues, and partner with operators when needed. At times you’ll run solo with minimal supervision; at other times you’ll collaborate closely with fellow maintenance technicians. Expect to move between areas where conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy—always with safety first.
