Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role requires a strong technical background and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Equipment Technician will play a crucial role in minimizing downtime and enhancing operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions using tools such as an ohmmeter and other diagnostic equipment.
- Perform repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of parts.
- Collaborate with other technicians and departments to resolve issues efficiently.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and upgrades as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as an Equipment Technician or similar role.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, including an ohmmeter.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and other departments.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in equipment maintenance.
- Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- A Medical card is needed.
- Must possess their own hand tools.
- Preference for candidates residing within a 50-mile radius.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Some proficiency with computer technology, such as CAT ET, is a plus.
- A strong record of reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Must successfully pass a drug test and background check.
- Some welding ability is needed
