Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Shop or Field

    Livonia, MI | $30–$42+/hr | Full-Time

There’s a big difference between a mechanic who changes parts and a technician who can figure out why the machine failed in the first place.

We’re looking for Shop or Field Heavy Equipment Technicians for our Livonia operation. If you’re already good with diagnostics, hydraulics, electrical systems and diesel equipment, you can get right to work.

    The Job

You’ll be working on construction equipment and dealing with everything from routine service to the repairs that require some real troubleshooting.

    • PMs, inspections and scheduled maintenance
    • Diesel engine and powertrain repair
    • Hydraulic troubleshooting and component repair
    • Electrical diagnostics and repair
    • Mechanical troubleshooting
    • Remove and replace components
    • Install attachments, accessories and kits
    • Welding and fabrication when needed
    • Function-test equipment after repairs
    • Diagnose problems and get to the root cause

All skill levels are welcome. We’d rather have a mechanically sharp tech who wants to learn than someone with a perfect resume who can’t troubleshoot their way out of a problem.

    What You Bring

    • Experience with heavy equipment, diesel, automotive, agricultural, industrial or similar equipment
    • Good mechanical instincts
    • Hydraulic, electrical and diagnostic experience is a strong plus
    • Ability to read schematics and service information
    • Your own professional tools
    • Valid driver’s license
    • CDL is optional
    • Reliable work habits and pride in your repairs

Shop or Field — We Have Both

    • Field techs work out of a service truck and go where the equipment is. No CDL is required for the service truck. If you have a CDL, there are CDL trucks available.
    • When the field slows down, field techs can bring the truck back and work in the shop.
    • The shop handles everything from routine PM work to hydraulic, electrical, diesel and major component repairs. There’s enough variety that you won’t be standing around doing the same job every day.

    • 7:30 AM–5:00 PM
    • Average 45–50 hours/week

If you’re tired of being treated like a number and want a shop where your mechanical ability actually matters, apply.
