Heavy Equipment Operator

HM Staffing is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate construction equipment on job sites. This role involves earthmoving, trenching, grading, and supporting underground utility and site work projects.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, backhoes, graders, and skid steers

• Perform trenching and excavation for underground utilities

• Load and unload materials and equipment

• Read and follow site plans, grade stakes, and job specifications

• Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance

• Work closely with laborers, foremen, and supervisors

• Follow all safety regulations and company procedures

• Maintain a clean and organized job site

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating heavy construction equipment

• Experience in excavation, utilities, or site work preferred

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Strong understanding of job site safety

• Valid driver's license

• Ability to pass a drug screen (if applicable)

Preferred BUT not Required

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30

• Experience with underground utilities or GPS machine control
