Job Description
Hourly wage $28- $45 per hour based on experience
Position Summary
The Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of heavy mobile and stationary equipment used in a steel mill environment. This role supports mill operations by ensuring equipment reliability, operational safety, and compliance with company and regulatory standards. The Technician will work on large, off‑road and industrial equipment under demanding conditions where safety, precision, and uptime are critical.

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred
Minimum 3+ years of experience maintaining heavy equipment in an industrial, mining, steel‑mill, or construction environment
Strong mechanical aptitude with hands‑on experience in:
Diesel and gasoline engines
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Electrical and electronic controls
Drivetrains and braking systems
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced industrial environment
Proven commitment to workplace safety and hazard awareness
Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical documentation and OEM service procedures
Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
