A Miami contractor is hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to keep its fleet running, split between field service and the shop. You work out of a company truck, you get the call when something goes down on a job site, and you decide whether it gets fixed there or comes in.
BELMONT Search recruits for construction contractors across South Florida. This is a permanent job with the contractor, not a staffing assignment.
The work:
- Hydraulics diagnostics and repair, which is the core of this job
- Diesel engine diagnostics and repair
- Field service calls out of a company provided truck
- Shop work: scheduled maintenance, teardowns and rebuilds
- Excavators, loaders, telehandlers, skid steers and support trucks
Strong hydraulics and strong diesel are the two things that matter here. Welding and fabrication help. A CDL helps. Neither is required, and the truck is provided.
Pay is $38 to $50 an hour depending on experience.
