Minimum Qualifications:


  • Minimum of five (5) years of job-related experience.
  • Knowledge of small-engine equipment, including generators, compressors, and similar equipment, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical systems, suspension systems, brake systems, and other related motor vehicle components gained through advanced education, military experience, or on-the-job training.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment parts, hydraulic systems, and equipment performance requirements.
  • Advanced education or training in electronic and computerized diagnostic systems and equipment is preferred but not required.
Required Skills and Abilities:


  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand service manuals and stay informed of engineering and equipment changes.
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles and heavy equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems and complete necessary repairs.
  • Ability to safely operate welding and flame-cutting equipment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Safe driving habits and an acceptable driving record.
Responsibilities:


  • Understand and follow all job-related safety requirements and properly use required personal protective equipment, including welding shields and other applicable safety equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on company-owned and leased vehicles and equipment to promote safety, reliability, and equipment longevity.
  • Repair, replace, clean, adjust, and lubricate vehicle and equipment components as necessary.
  • Inspect hydraulic components for fluid leaks, damaged or ruptured hoses, worn gaskets, and other issues, and complete necessary repairs.
  • Travel to job sites to diagnose and repair heavy equipment as needed.
  • Use handheld computers, diagnostic equipment, and other electronic devices to identify components requiring adjustment or repair.
  • Rebuild or replace engines, repair hydraulic pumps and systems, diagnose electrical problems, and complete other major repairs as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position safely and effectively.
