This position is primarily responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance, as directed by the Truck Shop foreman, on vehicles ranging from autos and pickups through class 8 trucks and trailers, knuckle-boom cranes, forklifts, small motor driven equipment and other rental equipment. While assuring shop and field work compliance with all regulatory standards, the Truck Shop mechanic is also responsible for maintaining equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements, correcting vehicle deficiencies and by making adjustments and alignments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution
5+ Years of experience working as a fleet mechanic in the following area.
Heavy duty diesel truck repair
Hydraulic crane repair preferred.
Off road diesel equipment repair.
Certificates, licenses, and registrations required:
Must possess a valid and clean commercial Class C Drivers License issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Class A driver's license is highly preferred.
ASE certifications preferred in Diesel and or heavy equipment tech.
Knowledge of engines, transmissions and controls
Knowledge of brakes and suspensions
Skilled in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on trucks and equipment
Skilled in DOT inspections
Other skills required:
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems
